We Meet Jesus

The encounter with the living Jesus Christ.
The Gospels relate many meetings between Jesus and the men and
women of his day. Born in a humble stable, simple shepherds were
the first witnesses to his birth. During his public ministry, Jesus
entered the homes of sinners and dined with them. When some
protested he said, "I have not come to call the righteous, but
sinners to repentance" (Lk 18:9).
A common feature of all these stories is the transforming power
of an encounter with Jesus. His presence was irresistible. The
opportunity to meet the living Christ is available every day at St. Joseph Parish ... at
Mass, in the Eucharist, in the Word of God and in others.
He promised that "where two or three are gathered in my name,
there am I in the midst of them" (Mt. 18:20). When the Word is
proclaimed, it is He Himself who speaks to us. In the Eucharist,
Christ is present, whole and entire in his physical reality. "On
the face of every human being, especially when marked by tears and
suffering, we can and must see the face of Christ" (Pope John Paul
II, The Church in
America, 13).
The living Jesus Christ is here.
He is waiting for you at St. Joseph Parish.
Mass and The Eucharist
God rested on the seventh day. The institution of the Lord's Day
and weekly participation in Mass helps restore the rhythm of life.
Everyone should enjoy adequate rest and leisure, spending time with
family and taking time away from the demands and stress of the
week. Sunday is a day of grace and an opportunity to renew our body
and spirit.
The Eucharist is the outstanding moment of encounter with the
living Christ (35). The Eucharist is an immense gift. Everyone is
invited to participate actively and worthily at least on Sundays
and Holy Days. It is the source and summit of the life of the
Church, and St. Joseph parish.

Eucharistic Adoration
We invite you to participate in Eucharistic Adoration.
"In a world where there is so much noise, so much bewilderment,
there is a need for silent adoration of Jesus concealed in the
Host. Be assiduous in the prayer of adoration and teach it to the
faithful. It is a source of comfort and light, particularly to
those who are suffering" (Pope Benedict XVI). Read more at Quote Catholic.
The Word of God
"The Holy Bible is like a mirror before our mind's eye. In it we
see our inner face. From the Scriptures we can learn our spiritual
deformities and beauties. And there too we discover the progress we
are making and how far we are from perfection" (Pope St. Gregory
the Great). Read more at Quote Catholic.
